Two St John Emergency Ambulance Service clinicians have received the Chief Ambulance Officer’s Recognition of Performance Award for their part in two medical cases on the Flying Christine III and Lifeboat.

Paramedic Dan Jehan and Emergency Care Assistant Charlotte Smith along with a paramedic officer were initially deployed to an incident in Herm which they responded to on the Flying Christine III marine ambulance. While they were in Herm another call came in for a medical emergency in Sark. The paramedic officer stayed in Sark with the Flying Christine and the St Peter Port lifeboat collected Dan and Charlotte and took them onto the case in Sark. Both cases were carried out in challenging conditions and poor weather, but the pair were commended for the way they coped with the circumstances and their focus on patient care.

The awards were presented to Dan and Charlotte by St John Ambulance Guernsey Chairman Stuart Place.
