This term our Badgers have been working towards their Community badge.

The Badgers visited the GSPCA where they learnt about the work of the local animal welfare charity from Steve Byrne.

In October they were given a tour of the police station in St Peter Port by PC Lyndsey Bell and PC Nick Boughay to learn how Guernsey police works to protect the island community. The visit included a look at the cells in the custody suite, finger printing and a some of the police vehicles.
The third visit was to the Guilles Alles Library in Market Square where they heard some of the history of the library and discovered the wide range of books, magazines and music available to our community. After each visit the Badgers wrote a short reflection about what they had learnt.
To completed their Community badge our Badgers spent an afternoon making Christmas Stockings and filling them with sweets to give to an elderly neighbour or friend who might be alone this Christmas.
We’re really proud of the our Badgers for their amazing work this term. St John Badgers is for young people aged from 5 to 10 and helps children learn basic first aid and other skills for life. Find out more about our youth programme by emailing info@stjohn.gg
