A multi-agency emergency exercise took place on the evening of Wednesday 17^th April at one of Guernsey’s fuel suppliers.  The staged incident started when petrol was being transferred from a tank via flexible hoses to another tank.  Due to a split in the transfer hose, petrol started to flow along the bund floor.  The vapour ignited causing an explosion and fire, all emergency services were then activated.

A number of employed Service staff and Ambulance Reserve Volunteers took part in the exercise.
