The flag at the ambulance station is flying at half-mast today as St John Ambulance Guernsey pays tribute to a UK colleague who died in a road traffic accident whilst on duty earlier this month.

Tammy Minshall, 31, who was a Trainee Paramedic with the West Midlands Ambulance Service and a student at Staffordshire University died when the ambulance she was travelling in was involved in a crash in Needwood, near Burton-upon-Trent.

Guernsey’s Chief Ambulance Officer, Mark Mapp said: “We were extremely saddened to hear of the death of Tammy, who died doing the job she loved. As an ambulance community we stand together at times of tragedy and share the grief of our colleagues. As a mark of respect the St John flag at the entrance to the Rohais will fly at half-mast on Thursday 25th which is the day of her funeral”.

Our thoughts are with Tammy’s family, friends and colleagues.
