On Sunday 5 February, the Guernsey Ambulance and Rescue Service were called to Sark to attend to an injured male who had fallen on rocks on one of the Island’s beaches. The Marine Ambulance, Flying Christine III, with a Paramedic and Emergency Medical Technician on board, responded to the emergency call for assistance.

Upon reaching Sark and assessing the patient, the decision was made to transfer the casualty to the Flying Christine III, utilising the vessels deployable rescue dinghy. Additional Guernsey Ambulance and Rescue Service resources, including an Inshore Rescue Boat were placed on standby in the event that they were required to assist in the rescue. The casualty was safely recovered and monitored en route to Guernsey, where he was transferred by waiting emergency ambulance to the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
