The St John Emergency Ambulance Service is in the process of selling two Inshore Rescue Boats and associated marine equipment.

The two RIBs (IRB 1 & IRB 2) will be sold separately by sealed bid, which should be sent to Dave Welbourne, St John Emergency Ambulance Service, Rohais, St Peter Port, GY1 1YN – to be received by FRIDAY 16th NOVEMBER.

Boat specifications:-

  • Length 16ft
  • Beam 6ft
  • Draft 21 inches
  • Max speed 25 kts
  • 6 galls fuel
  • Fitted with 50 hp 2 stroke Tohatsu with inversion kits fitted (max hours run 75) manufactures tool kit etc.
  • Boats on stainless steel purpose built trailers
  • Fitted Icom VHF IC-M505 and Lowrance GPS HDS 7M

 

The boats were originally purchased in 2005. They have been stored inside and regularly maintained & serviced. The Tohatsu engines are 3 years old (IRB1) and 4 years old (IRB2).

The sale of the equipment follows the decision to end the Inshore Rescue Boat service earlier this year. The RNLI and Guernsey Coastguard has now taken on the responsibility for inshore rescues in Guernsey waters.
