Students at La Houguette Primary School have raised a total of £943.35 for the St John Emergency Ambulance Service appeal for a new ambulance.

The money was collected at the school Christmas concert in December and a ‘Wear Your Christmas Jumper’ day at the end of last term.

The children were asked which good cause they wanted to donate the money to and they chose the new ambulance appeal.

Chief Ambulance Officer, Ali Marquis said “We are extremely grateful to the students, staff and parents at La Houguette for raising this money for our new ambulance. It was a tremendous effort on the part of everyone involved. Every year an ambulance visits the reception classes and our staff meet the children to talk to them about their work, so it is great that the student chose the ambulance appeal this year.”

Head teacher at La Houguette, Claire Judd said “We are immensely proud of La Houguette’s fundraising efforts for this worthy cause. The children were fully behind this appeal and always love it when St John visit the school. We are delighted to be able to present this cheque to Jim and Ali in our assembly and thank everyone for their generous contributions.”
