Following a recent advert placed in the Guernsey Press, it became apparent that the St John Ambulance & Rescue Service could assist a lady from the United Kingdom,  who was trying to locate the rescuers of her husband, who was involved in  a cliff incident on Guernsey in 1951.  An Assistant Chief Officer from the Service made contact with the lady, a Mrs Barton, and explained that St John were involved in the rescue of her husband who had fallen approximately 120 feet from a cliff path.  The couple from the United Kingdom were visiting Guernsey for the first time since the incident, and were able to meet some of the rescuers.  Mr and Mrs Barton accompanied by one of the rescuers were able to take a trip on the Marine Ambulance, Flying Christine III during a scheduled training session.   They were then presented with a set of the Services’ 75^th Anniversary coins and copies of the press cuttings from the incident in 1951.
