Senior managers from the St John Ambulance & Rescue Service Guernsey recently attended the National Ambulance Leadership Forum in Leeds, a prestigious annual event that provides a platform for networking and discussion about the ongoing development of UK ambulance services.

The event was opened by the guest of honour, The Right Honourable Andy Burnham MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Health. Other speakers include representatives from industry, parliamentarians, commissioners and a range of other guests.

Speakers addressed topics such as ‘the future of emergency and urgent care’ and ‘an integrated approach to emergency medical services’.

Guernsey presented its Marine Ambulance to senior representatives of UK Ambulance Services.

St John Ambulance & Rescue Service is a member of The Association of Ambulance Chief Executives and the Ambulance Services Charity which bring together the Executive Teams at the annual event.

St John Ambulance & Rescue Service chief officer, Jon Beausire, said: “The conference provides an opportunity to discuss innovation and initiatives with colleagues who can bring fresh thinking and new ideas to the table. This helps us to ensure our ambulance service is best placed to provide broader services in the future.”
