Going above and beyond – Special award for Andy Adam

Paramedic Station Officer Andy Adam has been presented with an award from the Chief Ambulance Officer in recognition of his commitment to the St John Emergency Ambulance Service.

Andy has been a member of the service since 1985 having previously been a youth and volunteer member of St John. He has been a Paramedic Station Officer for eighteen years leading a team of operational clinicians. The award was for his consistent and dedicated support to the senior management team and his commitment in all aspects of his work within the St John Emergency Ambulance Service.

Chief Ambulance Officer Mark Mapp said “Andy is being recognised today for his commitment which goes above and beyond what is required of his role. Often when there are high operational demands or there is a requirement to provide resilience in the other islands Andy will make himself available.”

Andy also provides training for the Ambulance Reserve volunteers and major incident training outside his regular hours of duty. The award was presented by St John board member David Hodgetts.
