Old Masters Relay Team
Sunday 2nd April 2023
Help to grow more of our own Health professionals and volunteers in Guernsey by supporting the Old Masters relay team of runners, in the 2023 Guernsey Marathon.
WHY?
The team is running in the 2023 Guernsey Marathon relay to help grow more of our own Health professionals and volunteers in Guernsey. It is widely acknowledged that a combination of post-pandemic and growing demographic challenges will continue to exert substantial and continuing operational and funding pressures on Health & Social Care in the Bailiwick. By “growing more of our own”, we can help reduce those pressures. Many current healthcare professionals and volunteers across the Bailiwick were first exposed to the Health & Social care sector and inspired to seek a career in healthcare, after participating in St John Youth Services as Badgers or Cadets.
The team is aiming to raise £10,000 to fund an upgrade and expansion of training in the St John Guernsey charity’s youth services, ensuring it is a valuable source of future healthcare professionals in the Bailiwick.
