A new public accessible defibrillator site has been installed on Herm Island next to the gift shop.

The AED (defibrillator) and cabinet has been supplied by the St John Health Care Shop.

In the event of an emergency to obtain the defibrillator you need to call 999 first to inform Guernsey Ambulance Control who will then give you the access code to open the cabinet.

The use of an AED is not restricted to trained rescuers. However we do encourage members of the public to attend an AED training course to be able to use the equipment most efficiently together with providing basic life support techniques.

Details about courses can be obtained from St John Training Service (telephone 01481 247979).
