St John have supported a number of life-saving Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) which are designed to be used by members of the public and have been placed at various locations on the Island of Guernsey.

St John wants to remind the public that early resuscitation and defibrillation are essential for survival of a cardiac arrest and the placement of these AED’s in public places helps reduce the time delay between the heart stopping and the arrival of an ambulance.  A map showing the locations can be viewed by clicking here.

Whilst anyone can use one of the public accessible AED’s, St John encourages all members of the public to attend a short course to learn how to recognise cardiac arrest and to practice resuscitation. Further information on the short courses can be found by clicking here.
