Following an application to become a recognised RYA Training Centre, an inspection was carried out by an RYA Inspector of the St John Inshore Rescue Boats, documentation, and an assessment of the RYA Instructors carrying out training on the water.

The RYA’s Inspection Report stated that the Service was an impressive and well managed operation.  “Training Centre” status to teach RYA Powerboat Levels One and Two was recommended with immediate effect.

The RYA Inspector was able to gain a full understanding of all the Services’ marine operations, by observing the Flying Christine III on a real life emergency to Herm Island which is three miles from the coast of Guernsey.
