Throughout the year on various bank holidays and weekends, St John provides paramedic and ambulance cover for all of Guernsey’s motor racing events.

Hillclimb

At specific events St John supports Guernsey’s Motorsport Rescue Unit ‘Sarnia Rescue’ a group of specially trained volunteers who provide a first response to all motor racing incidents, extrication of casualties, fire fighting and advanced first aid.

The events include hill-climbs in both Guernsey and Alderney, quarter mile sprints, sand racing and other speed trials which take place at various locations on the islands, from Easter and throughout the summer months.

Sand-racing

The highlight of the Guernsey motor racing calendar is held on the 19th July when the Guernsey Motor Cycle and Car Club hosts a round of the British Hill Climb Championship on ‘Le Val des Terres’ in St Peter Port.  St John will be there, as it has been for many years, providing professional medical cover in support of the local motor racing community.
