Two dedicated volunteers have been awarded for their commitment to the St John non-emergency patient transfer service.

Paul Kennedy and Heather Lucas are part of a group of volunteers who give up their time every week to take renal patients to and from their dialysis appointments at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.

Renal patients have to travel to the hospital up to three times a week making the help from the volunteers an invaluable resource to the service.

The volunteers arrange the rota between them and have built up a friendly rapport with the patients they help. Last year Mr Kennedy clocked up over 100 hours of volunteer time while Ms Lucas showed an impressive commitment of over 150 hours.  St John are extremely grateful to all our volunteers for their continued support.
