Our youth sections start again next week (8th September). We have meetings for Badgers (5-10 year olds) on either a Tuesday afternoon or Friday afternoon and Cadet meetings (10-16 year olds) on a Tuesday or Friday evening.

Our youth programmes enable young people to learn first aid, build their confidence, and gain important life skills.

Badgers is all about having fun and children can take part in lots of activities which help them earn badges and certificates for various subjects, including Active Badger, First Aid Badger, Helpful Badger, Eco Badger, Community Badger and Healthy Badger. For every 3 subjects they complete they will receive an bronze, silver or gold award.

Cadets learn life saving skills through the St John Cadet programme. They also learn about health and wellbeing and can develop self confidence and communication skills.

There are also opportunities to use first aid skills by supporting our adult volunteers at events around Guernsey.

Some Cadets work towards the Grand Prior Award. As part of the Award, you’ll be able to take part in a wide range of activities. Young people also get the chance to get involved with helping our local community.

Many doctors, nurses, paramedics and other healthcare workers have a background in St John Badger and Cadets.
