Steve Le Page, Director of St John Ambulance and Rescue Service and a spokesman for the board said:

‘St John Ambulance and Rescue Service (SJARS) can confirm an agreement has been made with the States of Guernsey for SJARS to continue to provide emergency road ambulance and patient transport services in the Bailiwick under a revised contractual relationship with the States of Guernsey.

‘We welcome this revised arrangement which will enable us to ensure the continuing provision of emergency road ambulance and patient transport services for all islanders.

‘We would like to inform the public that the other forms of income SJARS receives to provide the Ambulance Service, such as subscriptions and user charges, will continue under the revised contract with the States of Guernsey.

‘We are proud to have delivered the emergency ambulance service in an efficient and effective manner to the Guernsey community for more than 75 years and we would like to thank the community and our staff for their continuing loyalty and support.’
