It was a busy 48 hours for the St John Ambulance and Rescue Service this weekend. Over the two day period our members responded to 32 emergency calls, including falls, sports injuries and other medical emergencies.

On Saturday the team responded to a serious traffic accident in the Forest, with two ambulances and an ambulance incident officer on the scene.

On Saturday afternoon, a St John paramedic and emergency medical technician were placed on the St Peter Port Life Boat after receiving a call from the RNLI to attend a yacht north of Herm. The ambulance crew was transferred to the yacht, where a male patient had sustained a leg injury. The crew treated the causality on board while the yacht was towed to St Peter Port Harbour.

The Service also transported 14 non-emergency patients for various appointments, including three transfers to the UK for medical care. St John Ambulance members were present at the Sand Racing on Saturday to provide medical cover for all those racing.

We would like to thank all our staff and volunteers for their hard work over this busy period.
