The St John Ambulance & Rescue Service recently took receipt of a new fully automated trolley stretcher, which is to be used in an emergency road ambulance.  This vital piece of equipment which enables minimal lifting by the ambulance crews, was purchased following the generous donation received as a result of the 2013 Itex Sponsored Walk.

The Itex Sponsored Walk is an annual event, whereby participants walk a total of 38.5 miles around the coastal and cliff paths of Guernsey.  Hundreds of people took part in the trek last June to raise funds for a total of seven local charities.
