The Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey has paid tribute to emergency service workers on 999 Day.

999 Day is a national initiative which started in 2017 and is a chance for all Emergency Services to be celebrated. The event is also an opportunity to remember 999 workers who have died in the course of their duties.

This year to showcase the work of all emergency services in Guernsey, the Bailiwick Law Enforcement Instagram and Guernsey Police Twitter feed was updated with regular posts broadcast from the Joint Emergency Services Control Centre (JESCC) to give a snapshot
of what the services undertake on a regular day.

The Chief Ambulance Officer also sent a message to staff and volunteers to mark the occasion.

The heads of all the 999 services also visited JESCC on the day.
