Hyperbaric Technologist Ian Hubbard visited the island recently to run an intensive two day course in Diving Medicine for members of the Guernsey Ambulance & Rescue Service’s Hyperbaric Recompression Centre.  Ian is a member of QinetiQ’s Hyperbaric Medicine Unit based at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.

The main focus for the two days was on the assessment of the symptomatic diver with the emphasis very much on identifying, often subtle, Neurological deficit
