A short service lead by the Dean of Guernsey remembered all of those lost at sea and in particular the crew of the MV Prosperity which sank off the west coast in 1974.

During the sermon the Dean also paid tribute to the volunteers and professional medical crews of the St John marine ambulance. The Flying Christine 3 is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, having been launched in November 1994. The Very Reverend Tim Barker also said prayers for the merchant seamen who bring food and supplies to Guernsey. Prayers were also said for the lifeboat crew and all those who work at the harbour.
