The volunteer Ambulance Reserve is a group of volunteers who assist the professional ambulance service at major incidents, during times of high demand and in adverse weather conditions.

What’s involved

The team are trained in how to set up the major incident equipment, man the various treatment posts and are given training on basic first aid.

The team meet regularly to carry out training, simulations and maintain the emergency response equipment including:

Many St John Cadets go on to have careers in the health and social care sector in Guernsey and further afield.
