Meeting the public at the summer shows

St John Ambulance Guernsey has been meeting islanders and visitors at the West and North Shows this summer.

Staff and volunteers from the Emergency Ambulance Service, St John Training and the St John Ambulance Guernsey charity were on hand to demonstrate life-saving skills including CPR and how to help someone who is choking.

The events gave us a chance to show off the new emergency ambulance “Alpha Victor One-Zero-Two” which was purchased with the support of the public. Show-goers had the opportunity to have a look around the new vehicle which on display at the St John stand. The St John HealthCare shop also had a display of wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility products such as stairlifts and home lifts.Volunteer first aiders were on duty throughout the four days of the summer shows providing care for people at the events.

Thanks to everyone who came along to say hello and all of our volunteers who gave up their time to support these great traditional Guernsey events.
