St John Marine Ambulance cover for 2020 is now available.
The marine ambulance was built from charitable donations and continues to be funded by public generosity through donations, bequests and membership fees.
This funding enables a modern, fully equipped emergency vessel, crewed with paramedics to provide medical treatment and patient transfers to the smaller Islands of the Bailiwick and surrounding waters.
Each response costs the service approximately £2500 and membership of the Marine Ambulance scheme will go some way to ensure that the on-going running costs can be met in the coming years.
What does it cost?
SINGLE membership of £119 provides cover for a single person, with or without children. Any children living with a single parent are included at no extra charge until they leave full time education.
FAMILY membership of £180 provides cover for a couple, with or without children. Any children living with the couple are included at no charge until they leave full time education.
CORPORATE RATE A corporate rate is available for organisations that employ seasonal workers – price on application.
What if I don’t join?
The marine ambulance responding to a call will attract a minimum charge of £1858 for each response.
There is no limit to the number of marine ambulance responses, and no age limit for members. Members however cannot order the marine ambulance just because they are members, calls must be for medical emergencies resulting from injury or illness; or must come from a Health Care Professional.
